Sukri dates golden, lightly crisp, and honeyed with a delicate sweetness that's bright rather than heavy. The lightest variety we carry, and one of the most distinct.

Taste & texture: Semi-dry with a gentle crunch and a clean, floral-honey sweetness. Less dense than most dates, refreshing and easy to eat in quantity without feeling overpowered.

Best for: Sweet cravings · After dinner · Light snacking · Those new to dates

Why Roots Sukri?
Our 100% natural dates have no added sugar, no preservatives, and no treatment. The golden colour and crispness are natural to the variety, not a result of processing.

Not like supermarket dates here's what to expect

Sukri looks and feels unlike any date most UK buyers have seen before. Here's what to expect:

• They're golden and semi-dry, not dark and sticky. If you're expecting a dark, soft Medjool-style date, Sukri will look completely different. The pale gold colour and drier texture are natural to the variety.
• They have a gentle crunch. Sukri has a slightly crisp bite compared to softer varieties. This isn't a sign they're old it's their character.
• The sweetness is light and floral. Not intensely sugary, more like honey than caramel. Many people find Sukri the most approachable variety once they try it.
• They may look uneven or slightly shrivelled. No glazing, no coating. The natural surface of a Sukri date isn't perfectly smooth, and that's exactly how it should be.

Sukri is one of the most surprising varieties for first-timers. Give it a fair try before judging by appearance.
